AC Milan want to make a major statement once their buyout by a Chinese consortium in completed and have the plan to break the bank to land Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane, according to The Mirror.

The historic Serie A side have found it tough to match the financial power of European rivals over the last five years and have subsequently sold their best players to balance the books.

However, with new wealthy backers set to take control at the Sani Siro, the Rossoneri are believed to be ready to splurge on new players in a bid to restore the club to former glories.

Kane has become a sensation since bursting onto the scene at White Hart Lane two years ago and ended last season as the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

Reports in the press have stipulated that Spurs are hoping to tie the England international down to a new contract that would make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

However, the latest story suggests that Milan could well tempt Tottenham into selling the homegrown hero with a bid in excess of £75 million.
