‘Can chug along with Pogba’, ‘Diabolical’ – These Man Utd fans slam ‘one dimensional’ man

Although Manchester United may have been able to brush past Club Brugge and progress into the next round of the Europa League, a number of fans still found time to slate Tahith Chong’s performance on Twitter.

The Red Devils booked their place in the next stage of the competition with consummate ease after demolishing the Belgians with an emphatic 5-0 scoreline.

In truth, the tie was arguably over after the first 45 minutes when Bruno Fernandes, Odion Ighalo and Scott McTominay all got themselves on the scoresheet.

Fred fired a quick-fire double in the final ten minutes of the game just to make sure, however, as mentioned, supporters still felt they had a reason to be critical with one man’s performance.

Chong may have come onto the field as a second-half replacement for Daniel James, but many were still highly negative about what the youngster brought to the side, despite providing Fred with an assist for the final goal of the night.

According to WhoScored’s data, the 20-year-old made one key pass with the 25 touches of the ball he had, completed 75% of his passes although there was not much more to speak of.

Perhaps, those figures are why many of the Manchester United fans took to Twitter to slam the Dutchman as some stated that they felt he was not good enough and that he did not offer them much.

One even suggested he should join Paul Pogba in potentially heading to Italy and playing his football there with Tuttosport recently claiming Juventus were interested in the youngster as Calciomercato mention the Frenchman is a top target.

Here are what just some of the club’s faithful had to say about Chong’s display…
