Leeds United are hoping to bring in one more loanee before the window closes on Friday but will not bring in defensive cover, according to Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites have already signed three loan players, with Chelsea’s Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker joining Manchester City’s Jack Harrison at Elland Road, and EFL rules would allow a further two loanees to be named in the match day squad.

Leeds have been linked to a number of potential signings, including Wigan’s Nick Powell, according to YEP.

The Crewe Alexandra academy graduate signed for Manchester United as an 18-year-old and Sir Alex Ferguson chose not to send him out on loan despite his Premier League inexperience. Despite this initial signal of trust, his tenure at Old Trafford was later marred by injuries, unsuccessful loan spells and reported attitude problems.

Since then however, he has shone for the Latics since moving there permanently in 2016, and was nominated for League One Player of the Season last year.

number of clubs are looking at the midfielder, who already has 3 goals and 4 assists in the league season, and it yet to be seen whether the starlet can be tempted to Elland Road.

Hay has elaborated that Bielsa wants cover for Samuel Saiz  a big hint that the club are listening to offers for the Spanish midfielder.

Leeds are short of options at centre-half, with full-backs Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berrardi filling in there this season.

Bielsa also has Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson to call upon, but many of the fans have urged the club to bring in another defender.

Leeds are yet to be beaten in the league this season and optimism is rife around the club. There is always room for improvement however and the Argentine coach, known as ‘El Loco’, will not rest on his laurels whilst the window is still open.
