Harry Redknapp has revealed he would definitely start Harry Kane as Tottenham Hotspur prepare to face Liverpool in the Champions League final, per talkSPORT, (Friday, 9.30am.)
Asked the question about whether the England international should start whilst on Friday’s Jim White Show (9.30am 31/5/19), the former Spurs boss stated that he felt that if he was fit, then you could ‘bet your life’ on it.
“He’s such an incredible pro,” Redknapp said. “If he wasn’t right he wouldn’t be asking to play.
“If he says he’s ready then you bet your life. He’s just amazing.”
Kane being available for the match at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday will come as a huge boost to Mauricio Pochettino’s side and will give them a huge chance of walking away with the silverware.
However, whether the club’s talisman would be ready to play from the beginning and last the duration of the match remains to be seen.
Kane has not been able to play in a competitive fixture since the start of April, meaning it could be a huge risk for Pochettino to take.
It might be better for the manager to consider bringing him on later in the game as the clash with Liverpool has all the potential to go all the way to penalties.
Kane is not match fit and playing a high-intensity fixture could be tough on him and could cause him further concerns.
Undoubtedly, he will want to play every single minute of the biggest game of his career to date, however, Pochettino must do what he feels is right for the team and their chances of lifting silverware at the end of it.
