With club football in full swing, we look at some of the biggest and most important games in Europe this weekend.Whether you’re catching the games via soccer streams online or watching them on the TV, check our recommendations below on which games to focus on.
West Ham United v Manchester United, Premier League
West Ham United are doing well in the Premier League, while there are question marks on the future of Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Red Devils are by no means guaranteed a win at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday evening, and a defeat would heap more pressure on Solskjaer, especially as the Red Devils went down to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in midweek.
Chelsea v Leeds United, Premier League
Leeds United fans have developed a rivalry with Frank Lampard since Spygate at Derby County, and they will continue that in the Premier League on Saturday evening. Chelsea are in great form at the moment and will be confident of picking up all three points against Leeds, but Whites’ head coach Marcelo Bielsa knows how to get results, as he showed against Everton last weekend.
Sevilla v Real Madrid, La Liga
Sevilla and Real Madrid are not having the best of seasons, and this weekend’s game could be decisive for one or even both teams in regard to their title challenge. Defending Spanish champions Madrid are seven points behind leaders Real Sociedad, and although they do have a game in hand, they simply cannot fall further behind. As for Sevilla, they are eight points behind Sociedad with two matches in hand.
Montpellier v Paris Saint-Germain, Ligue 1
Montpellier are just two points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain and level on points with second-placed Lille. While PSG will head into the match as favourites, a win for the home team will really make the title race tighter.
Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal, Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur are at the top of the Premier League table, while Arsenal are struggling to maintain their challenge for the top four. The North London derby is one of the biggest in the world, and while form goes out of the window during such matches, the Gunners will have to really step up to pick up all three points from the Premier League game.
Bayern Munich v RB Leipzig, Bundesliga
It’s first and second in the Bundesliga this weekend, as Bayern Munich take on RB Leipzig at home. It is going to be an exciting game of football, and there should be a few goals.
