Tam McManus has suggested on PLZ Soccer that Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor will be in demand.
Former Hibernian forward McManus, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has also praised Celtic for handing McGregor a new contract.
The 26-year-old Scotland international midfielder recently signed a new five-year contract with the Hoops.
McManus said about McGregor on PLZ Soccer: “He is [ever reliable], he’s never injured. He’s a guy who you are going to get 40, 50 games out of all season and he’s a managers dream. Somebody you can rely on. He’s not going to pick up a niggle or cry off injured.
“He’s always available and he can play anywhere on the pitch. And he’s always a 7/10 every week, so brilliant business for Celtic to get him tied up. But there will still be other big clubs looking at him.”
McGregor is one of the best and most reliable midfielders in the Scottish Premiership and is a key figure in the current Celtic team.
The 26-year-old is at the top of his game and plays consistently well, and there is no doubt that he will get better in the coming years.
While McGregor seems happy and settled at Celtic, a big offer from a top club in the Premier League could come for him next summer, and then it will be interesting to see what the club and the player do.
Celtic are aiming to win the domestic treble this season and have also progressed to the knockout round of the Europa League.
