Liverpool are keen to ward off interest in star playmaker Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona and will offer the Brazilian maestro a new contract to confirm his commitment to the Premier League club, according to The Mirror.
The South American attacking midfielder has been a revelation in English football since moving to Anfield from Inter Milan and is acknowledged as one of the Premier League’s most creative players.

Liverpool have had an excellent start to the new season under Jurgen Klopp, with Coutinho’s presence in the final third a key element to the Reds’ devastating attacking play.
The report suggests that Barcelona are looking for possible new recruits next summer and have identified the Premier League star as a player that could add value at Camp Nou.
As such, Coutinho will be offered an improved deal on Merseyside that would end the building speculation over his future.
The Brazil international scored on international duty this week and recently admitted that he is happy and settled at Liverpool.
