Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is stalling on a new contract at Old Trafford and wants £300,000 per week, with Barcelona ‘huge admirers’ of the England international, according to the Mirror.
The Red Devils are expected to undergo a major overhaul of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad this summer, with expectations not met in 2018-19.
This has led to United buying Daniel James from Swansea City, with plenty more new faces surely set to arrive at the Manchester club before the end of the window.
However, Red Devils fans will be keen for the club to shore up the squad by getting the commitment of the best current players.
There is no doubt that Rashford falls into that category, with the homegrown talent set to be a critical member of the collective United efforts to reclaim former glories.
That said, the latest report suggests that Barcelona are monitoring the England international, with doubts over whether the Red Devils attacker will commit to the Old Trafford club.
Losing Rashford would be a massive blow for United, with the young striker looking like the team’s most-potent attacking weapon towards the end of the recently completed campaign.
Barcelona have Luis Suarez as their main central striker but with the veteran not getting any younger, the United star could well be an attractive successor.
