Arsenal are interested in signing Glasgow Celtic star Kieran Tierney, according to a report published by The Sun.
The Gunners will be looking to bolster their side this summer after they missed out on Champions League qualification.
Nacho Monreal is now 33 while Sead Kolasinac has failed to win over the Arsenal fans, meaning a move for Celtic’s Tierney could make sense.
It would make complete sense for the Gunners to part ways with Monreal and bring in a fresh player to add to their left-back options.
Celtic star Tierney fits the bill. The 22-year-old is one of the most highly-rated Scottish talents. Despite still being young, he has already previously captained Scotland as well as the Hoops.
Celtic will naturally be hesitant to part ways with Tierney.
He is a leader and one of the most important players within Neil Lennon’s Bhoys side. Tierney is also a youth product of the Hoops and may be himself hesitant to leave the club.
However, if Tierney wants to advance his career and take the next step in his career, he will likely have to leave Celtic at some point in order to test himself against the very best on a regular basis.
A move to the Premier League would make sense for him at this point, despite it breaking the Parkhead faithful’s collective hearts.
