Aston Villa face off against Bournemouth in a Premier League encounter at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Villans will be looking to record their first points of the new season against the Cherries.
Dean Smith’s Villa side can go into the game filled with confidence.
They may have lost 3-1 against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend but can take positives from the performance, especially considering that they did lead against one of the Premier League’s best sides for big portions of the game.
Smith’s Villa side will be without the services of striker Jonathan Kodjia, according to a report published by Sky Sports.
The report added that the player is expected to be out of action for 10 days.
Kodjia’s Villa future is also the subject of speculation as he is being linked with a potential transfer to the Turkish Super Lig.
Kortney Hause is also expected to miss the game due to an ankle problem. The report added that James Chester will remain out of action for the Villans after having picked up a hamstring injury during pre-season.
Villa have dominated the recent meetings between the two sides after having won four out of the previous seven. Villa will go into this game as favourites. They have a talented side and will also be playing on home turf.
Smith has built a solid team since succeeding Steve Bruce as the Midlands club’s manager midway through last season. If the tactician gets it right, three points could be on the cards though his Villa side will need to contain striker Callum Wilson.
