Aston Villa are due to play against Leicester City in a Football League Cup semi-final first leg clash at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night, with the visitors needing to be at their best to get a result.
Dean Smith’s side will be heading into the clash as under-dogs and may be prioritising their Premier League survival at this stage of the campaign.
Leicester meanwhile will be going all out to win the tournament considering that their chances of winning the league this season are very slim.
Villa are set to have to continue to make do without the services of goalkeeper Tom Heaton as well as record signing Wesley who are set to be out of action for the rest of the season, according to Squawka.
The report added that Orjan Nyland and Jonathan Kodjia will be expected to start in their absence.
Villa club captain Jack Grealish is expected to return to action after having not played during his side’s FA Cup defeat against Fulham.
It remains to be seen whether Danny Drinkwater, who joined Villa on loan from Chelsea late on Tuesday, will play any role in the game.
Smith’s Villa side will be hoping that Drinkwater’s experience of winning the league with Leicester nearly four years ago can help them to avoid the drop this season.
It will not be a disaster if Villa do lose the game considering that Premier League survival is now the main priority for the team.
It will however be a major source of joy for fans if the club go all-out and try to win a piece of major silverware.
