Yannick Bolasie will likely return to the Aston Villa starting XI when they face Queens Park Rangers on Friday night, according to Sky Sports.

The winger, who is on a season-long loan from Everton, was left out of the side during the defeat at Norwich City in midweek but looks set to be recalled to the starting line-up by manager Dean Smith following an injury to Albert Adomah.

Adomah was taken off with a knee problem in the loss at Carrow Road as was striker Tammy Abraham, who took a kick to the head, but the latter is deemed fit and available for selection for the trip to QPR.

Midfielder John McGinn is also back in contention having served a one-match suspension against Norwich. The 24-year-old has largely impressed at Villa Park since joining in the summer and has registered one goal and three assists in 12 appearances.

Villa face a QPR side who are in fine form having won three of their last four matches which includes the 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

Steve McClaren was appointed Hoops manager during the summer but he got off to a torrid start with three defeats from his first three matches – including a 7-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

But the loan signings of Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells have given Rangers a fresh impetus and the duo were on the scoresheet in the victory over the Owls.

Villa are have won just one of their last five matches which has seen the Midlands side slump to 16th in the Championship table.

The poor run start to the season saw Steve Bruce lose his job at the beginning of October and he was replaced by Smith, who left Brentford to take up the post at his boyhood club.
