Stan Collymore has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Aston Villa’s win against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday evening.

Villa got the better of West Brom on penalties to book their place in the Championship playoff final.

The Villans won the first leg of their Championship semi-final tie against the Baggies 2-1 at Villa Park this past weekend.

West Brom won the second leg 1-0, and neither side could score in extra time, meaning that the tie went into penalties.

Dean Smith’s side won the penalty shootout 4-3 to progress to the Championship playoff final.

Former Villa striker Collymore was following the match on Tuesday evening, and he has taken to Twitter to revel in the win for the Villans.

Collymore was not overly impressed with the display produced by Villa, but he did praise 24-year-old Scotland international John McGinn for his performance for the Villans against West Brom.

Villa, who reached the Championship playoff final last season as well, will face either Leeds United or Derby County in the final this campaign for a place in the Premier League for 2019-20.
