Aston Villa ended a run of six matches without a win when they eased past Rotherham United at Villa Park on Tuesday evening, and after the final whistle their fans took to social media to react to the much needed victory.

The Villans went into the game under a fair bit of pressure, after a summer struggle off the pitch and a tough beginning to the season on it, but you wouldn’t have thought that was the case watching them.

Villa took the game to their opponents and ran out comfortable winners. They didn’t need any extra highlights from the evening, but followers of the Birmingham based outfit got it in the form of loan signings Tammy Abraham and Yannick Bolasie getting off the mark for the club.

It was the former who caught the eye for most Villans supporters. The Chelsea forward has a good record in the Championship for previous teams he has had temporary spells with, and the signs are that he is ready to fire in a stack of goals this term too.

Abraham played alongside Jonathan Kodjia in a 4-4-2 formation utilised by Steve Bruce, and the pair looked like they had been playing together for much more than the week or so they have spent with each other.

It was the Ivory Coast international who laid on the goal for the England under-21 star to open the scoring on the night, and although Villa were made to wait until the last 10 minutes of the contest, Bolasie finally wrapped up a comfortable win for the home side.

Understandably their fans were jubilant after the final whistle with plenty hoping this win is the start of a run of form, which will see them emerge as promotion contenders.

They were quick to praise the impact of Abraham and congratulate him on the first of what they will be wanting to be many goals in a Villa shirt.
