Arsenal would have to include star attacker Alexis Sanchez in a deal to sign Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, Don Balon reports.
The Gunners are in the market for a new central defender after injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
Gimenez is one of the names that has been mentioned as a target in the Spanish and British media, but Diego Simeone’s men are understandably keen to hold onto the Uruguayan.

The latest report suggests that the only way that Arsene Wenger’s men will be able to land the South American enforcer will be to include Sanchez in a swap deal.
The Chile international is arguably Arsenal’s most-important player and has been a revelation since moving to North London from Barcelona.
The Emirates Stadium faithful will be keen to see a major defender signed before the transfer window closes at the end of August – but not at the expense of Sanchez or any of their other first-team stars.
