Arsenal are believed to be set to end the disastrous loan spell of Denis Suarez and go in search of other targets, according to The Sun.
The Barcelona playmaker arrived in a temporary switch in January, but is yet to do anything of note at the Emirates Stadium, and has been restricted to just six appearances from the substitutes bench.
Arsenal fought off competition from West Ham to land the 25-year-old, and it was believed at the time that the move could be made into a permanent one.
However with the Spain international struggling to adapt to the physicality and pace of the Premier League, the Gunners are set to admit defeat in their quest to get him up to speed, and pursue other options ahead of the summer window.
One of those targets is believed to be PSG winger Christopher Nkunku, a man who impressed Arsenal boss Unai Emery during his time in charge in Paris, and who is expected to be available at the end of the season.
The Gunners enquired about his services on loan in January, prior to agreeing a switch for Suarez, but with no deal able to be agreed, the Londoners went and got the former Sevilla star instead.
Another man that Arsenal are understood to be monitoring ahead of a summer bid is Rennes attacker Ismaila Sarr, a player who tore the Emirates Stadium men apart in the first leg of the Europa League tie between the two sides recently.
Club officials of the Gunners have already held initial talks with the French outfit regarding a move for the Senegal international at the end of the campaign, although they are said to be put off by a £25 million price tag that the Ligue 1 side have slapped on their man.
