Arsenal and Juventus are ready to wage war against each other to land wantaway German playmaker Julian Draxler next summer, according to The Mirror.

The gifted attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium on a number of occasions over recent years but for one reason or another the deal has failed to materialise.

Draxler has been outspoken over his ambition to play in the Champions League and admitted in the summer that he wanted to leave Wolfsburg after a solitary season on the club’s books.

However, a transfer did not happen and the former Schalke man is still with the Bundesliga side, but his agent has stated that the gifted star will leave the Volkswagen Arena next summer.

The report suggests that Arsene Wenger remains a big fan of Draxler but that Juventus are also keen to add the attacking midfielder to Max Allegri’s squad.

The playmaker started for Germany on Saturday as the world champions beat the Czech Republic 3-0 in Hamburg.
