Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that they have signed young former Chelsea defender Zech Medley, who will join the Premier League side’s youth ranks.
The 16-year-old left the Blues earlier this year after being on the books at Stamford Bridge since he was eight years old and as such was looking for a new club.
Arsenal initially took Medley on a trial, with the teenager given a chance to train with his equivalents in the Gunners set up – with it clear that the centre-half made an impression.
The Emirates Stadium outfit have confirmed that the defender has penned a first-year scholar deal with Arsene Wenger’s men and will look to further his trade with the Gunners.
Medley is highly rated and has already represented England at age-grade level, leading to surprise that Chelsea let the starlet leave their youth ranks.
Arsenal have a host of star youngsters coming through the ranks that will look at someone like Alex Iwobi as inspiration.
