Arsenal are closing in on a double contract extension for attacking pair Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, if a report in The Mirror is to be believed.
The Gunners got out of jail with a late winner against Southampton in the Premier League yesterday, with the North London side not really hitting their straps as yet in 2016-17.
Sanchez and Ozil are two of the most-expensive recruits in the North London club’s history and are essential members of Arsene Wenger’s side.

Although both have a number of years left to run on their current deals at the Emirates Stadium, the Premier League giants have been pushing to get the duo to extend their stays in London.
There would be no shortage of suitors for either Sanchez or Ozil should their deals get close to conclusion and Arsenal are clearly keen to avoid a situation where they are forced to sell a key player.
The report suggests that the Gunners are close to getting both players to agree contract extensions that would involve wage increases.
Ozil topped the Premier League assists chart with 19 goals set up last season, while Sanchez is one of the most explosive attackers in English football when fit and firing.
