Steven Gerrard has topped a poll of the greatest Liverpool and Manchester United players in the Premier League era.
The poll, conducted by Sky Sports, asked viewers to vote from a list of 50 players, 25 from each club, with the results announced ahead of the clash between the two at Anfield on Monday night.

Gerrard received over 49,000 votes, around 9,000 more than fellow Reds hero Luis Suarez, who finished in second place.
United legends Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs made up the rest of the top five.
Other big names in the top ten included Eric Cantona, Fernando Torres and David Beckham.
The highest-ranked player who could feature in Monday night’s showdown is Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, who placed 13th.
No current United player made the top 20, with captain Wayne Rooney the highest ranked at 25.
The poll will no doubt spark debate between fans of the two fierce rivals as to who really was the greatest to grace either club.
The sides meet in the Premier League with Liverpool tipped to edge the encounter after a fast start to the season.
The Reds could go top of the league with a win, but these games are usually decided on very fine margins and it would be naive to write off United, who still harbour title ambitions of their own.
