In what was a rather poor overall performance on Thursday night, Chelsea managed to secure a truly smash-and-grab 1-0 victory over Slavia Prague in the Europa League.

The victory, which was courtesy of a late Marcos Alonso header, meant Maurizio Sarri’s side put one foot into the semi-finals of the competition.

Chelsea, in truth, never really got going and found it difficult to break their Czech opponents down.

Willian went close in the first half when he rattled the crossbar from distance, however, there was not much else to speak about.

Sarri decided to change things in the second 45 minutes when he introduced Eden Hazard into the game and he immediately brought the Blues to life with his presence on the pitch.

But, it was one man that was on the field for the duration of the game that got fans talking on social media for his performance following the final whistle.

Kepa Arrizabalaga may have become a rather divisive figure at Stamford Bridge following his actions in the League Cup final back in February, however, he has continued to produce some great displays as he was kept the busier of the two goalkeepers.

And, the Spain international was more than up for the occasion in Prague once again as he made a number of vital saves.

Admittedly, he flapped at a number of crosses, which continue to highlight a weakness of his, however, the 24-year-old kept the hosts at bay and gave Chelsea a crucial advantage heading into the second leg.

Fans took to Twitter to praise Arrizabalaga for his performance and contribution in the match, with many claiming that he was their Man of the Match.

One supporter even stated that he felt the shot-stopper was ‘unbelievable’, whilst another stated that the £71.6million goalkeeper was ‘worth every penny’.

Here are just some of the Chelsea fans’ reactions:
