Scottish Premiership champions Celtic ended their league campaign on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 win over Hearts, the side they face in the Scottish Cup final next weekend, and after the match their fans responded to the sight of a young talent in the game.

The Bhoys took the decision to rest a number of their key men, as they go in search of another domestic treble at Hampden Park, which allowed Neil Lennon to play a number of their youngsters at various points in the match.

With Celtic stalwarts such as James Forrest and Kieran Tierney left on the sidelines, it was an opportunity for the lesser lights to shine.

One of those was Mikey Johnston and he got both the goals in the Bhoys’ victory, but even his thunder was stolen by a half time substitute, who came on for his debut in the Hoops shirt.

16-year-old Karamoko Dembele entered the field for Celtic for the second half, as Lennon rewarded the youngster with a first appearance in the senior set up, in front of a huge crowd at Celtic Park.

He never let the Bhoys down either. Although he wasn’t on the scoresheet, he showed plenty of ability in the 45 minutes that he was on the pitch, and looks to be another high calibre player off the Glasgow outfit’s production line.

The Celtic fans enjoyed what they saw of the teenager, on a day where their side were handed the Scottish Premiership trophy amid huge celebrations at the full time whistle.

After the festivities had died down and everything went back to normal, a number of Bhoys supporters took to social media to comment on Dembele’s performance, with all of them very complimentary about his debut, and expressing their desire to see a lot more of him in the future.
