Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce will prioritise a new left-back when the January transfer window opens and is considering moves for Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, according to The Telegraph.
The Eagles are expected to be one of the Premier League’s busier teams in the mid-season window, with the Selhurst Park club in relegation danger and having a new boss at the helm.
The report suggests that Palace are keen on Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies, while the London club has also been linked with Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs in the recent past.
However, it states that back-up options include Leeds star Taylor, who has impressed for the in-form Championship side and is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
Meanwhile, Tierney has broken through into the first team at Celtic and made the left-back berth his own at Parkhead.
This has led to a number of Premier League sides being linked with the young Scot, who seems destined to play at the highest level.
