‘Absolutely bossed it’ – These Rangers fans gush over display by ‘colossus’

A plethora of Rangers fans took time out from celebrating the fact that they have progressed to the next stage of the Europa League by jumping onto Twitter and leaving their praise for George Edmundson.

The Light Blues managed to get past Portuguese outfit Braga over the two legs with Ryan Kent getting the only goal of the game in their second-leg victory.

Things would have been tense for Steven Gerrard’s men in the second half, especially after Ianis Hagi missed from the penalty spot just prior to going into the interval.

However, Kent would have settled any nerves when he fired home on the hour mark, which would have likely sent a number of the Ibrox faithful into raptures for the rest of Wednesday evening.

As mentioned, as is the norm in the modern era, supporters took to social media to leave their positive remarks following the final whistle and it seems Edmundson got a number of rave reviews for his own contribution at the back.

Indeed, according to the figures collected by WhoScored, the 22-year-old appeared to play a blinder and perhaps it is no real surprise he became a focal point for much of the praise.

The former Oldham Athletic enforcer managed to make one tackle, one interception and block one shot, however he also provided a mammoth eight clearances alongside centre-back partner Connor Goldson’s 14 (per WhoScored).

Fans gushed over what they saw from Edmundson, with many going on to leave a number of superlatives regarding his recent performance.

Here are what just some of them had to say…
