Wolverhampton Wanderers pulled off a huge shock in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, when they went to Wembley Stadium and beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1.

After the final whistle their jubilant fans were quick to praise a man who had a huge impact on the encounter.

Things didn’t look quite so rosy for Wolves when Harry Kane fired home a thunderbolt in the first half to give Spurs a deserved lead, but they were unable to build on that advantage and ultimately paid the price.

Wanderers were not at their best before the break, but from the moment Willy Boly powered them level with a header after half time, there only looked like being one winner.

That was proven to be the case as Raul Jimenez fired Wolves in front, before Helder Costa raced clear late on to crown a famous victory for the side who won the Championship last season.

Nuno Santo Espirito’s men have taken it to the bigger sides this term, and this was their first win away from Molineux to one of them, setting them up wonderfully for 2019.

Jimenez has been one of their success stories this season, not just with the goals he has scored for Wolves, but also the amount of assists he has provided throughout the campaign too, and already he is a popular player with the Molineux faithful, who will be hoping that a deal can be done to make his loan from Benfica into a permanent switch.

It was the Mexico international who changed the game for Wanderers, with his strike putting Tottenham on the back foot and in truth Spurs never looked like getting back into the contest from then on.

Wolves fans recognised the impact of their star striker when they reacted to the match after the final whistle, with many of them quick to praise the 27-year-old.
