Glasgow Rangers came from behind against Aberdeen to earn a replay in the Scottish Cup quarter finals on Sunday, and after the match their fans were happy with one of their defenders in the draw.

The Gers have had their issues with the Dons this season, with them having found it difficult to keep 11 men on the pitch whenever they have played them in the league, so boss Steven Gerrard will be pleased that nobody was dismissed for his side this time around.

He might be less pleased that Rangers will need to come through a replay if they are to take their place in the semi-final of the competition however, although having trailed at one stage at Pittodrie, the prospect of seeing off Derek McInnes’ charges at Ibrox should appeal somewhat.

The Gers fell behind in the first half on Sunday, when Sam Cosgrove converted a penalty, but whatever Gerrard put in the cup of tea for his men had the desired effect, as they were level shortly after half time through an unlikely source.

Defender Joe Worrall was the man who levelled things up for Rangers, when he scored from close range for his first goal in the colours of the Glasgow giants, a strike which was perfectly timed given how much his team needed it.

The Nottingham Forest loanee had an excellent game at the base of the Gers side, with scoring being the icing on the cake of his all-round display, which was very encouraging.

Rangers fans certainly recognised that, with many of them taking to social media once the final whistle had blown at Pittodrie, both to praise the defender, and congratulate him on his first goal for the club and his positive performance in the cup tie.
