A number of Chelsea fans scattered across Twitter have called for the club to bring Edinson Cavani to west London.
The Uruguay international is believed to be disillusioned with life at Paris Saint-Germain at the moment and has asked to be made available for a transfer this January, according to a report by Sky Sports.
The 32-year-old has found life tough under Thomas Tuchel at the Parc des Princes Stadium this season, having made just four starts in Ligue 1 competition and finding himself behind the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the pecking order at times.
Indeed, Frank Lampard has said he would be open to bringing in new faces in a short-term capacity in the current transfer window, which has led to a number of the Chelsea faithful calling for Cavani’s name on Twitter.
Big Blues fan Frank Khalid shared a photo on the social media network of him with the £22.5million-rated South American (as per TransferMarkt) and asked his followers if they wanted to see the striker playing his football at Stamford Bridge.
It would seem a plethora of them would be delighted to have Cavani strutting his stuff in SW6 for the second half of the season at least, with many suggesting he could be what Lampard’s Chelsea side need to help take them up a notch.
Some fans even suggested that he would be an upgrade on current star Tammy Abraham, who leads the goalscoring charts for the Blues in the Premier League with 13 (Premier League official website).
Here are just some of their reactions…
